Newberry - Katharine B. Floyd, 82, widow of John Reuben Floyd Sr., of Presbyterian Home, Clinton, died Sunday, June 3, 2001. Born in Newberry, she was a daughter of the late Gaston F. and Sallie Davenport Boozer. She was a member of Smyrna Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Floyd is survived by sons, Rooney Floyd of Aiken, Gaston Floyd and Yancy Floyd, both of Newberry; a sister, Myrtle B. Martin, of Newberry; and five grandchildren. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. today at Smyrna Presbyterian Church with burial following in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends in the church fellowship hall following the committal service. McSwain-Evans Funeral Home.
