Son of Henry Crichlow and Lucy {Cobham} Crichlow of Barbados and England

Husband firstly of Charlotte Pierrepont (1800-1839), and secondly of Martha Maria Lyndon (1814-?), both of Barbados

Father of 8 daughters and 2 sons by his first wife, and a son by his second wife, all children born in Barbados. Guardian of his sister-in-law's only surviving child, Charlotte Maria Dalby

Henry Crichlow immigrated with his daughters, his ward, and his second family from Barbados to Philadelphia, PA, where he had relatives. They arrived in the fall of 1850, just as the North American winter would have been setting in. A merchant seeking good opportunities, Henry and his family moved yet further north to Canada, prior to the 1851 Census (taken in late spring 1852). The family resided first in Fergus, Nichol Township, Wellington County, Ontario before later settling at Napanee, Richmond Township, Lennox & Addington County, Ontario, where in 1881 Henry passed away
