Born in Budapest under the Austro-Hungarian Empire, the Baroness was the great niece of Leopold Von Sacher-Masoch, who wrote "Venus in Furs" and who gave his name to the psychological condition, masochism. After the War, she married Glynn Faithfull, a British Army Officer and philologist. Their daughter (born 1946) is Marianne Faithfull. (bio by: Iain MacFarlaine)
