Anna Permilla Kapp, age 90, of Shippenville (Pine City), died late Sunday evening, August 9, 2009, at the Clarion Hospital.
Born March 26, 1919, in Oil City, she was a daughter of the late Alvin T. and Bernice Perry Drake.
She married Edward Fay. He preceded her in death. She then married Henry Kapp on August 16, 1946. He preceded her in death on July 16, 1992.
Mrs. Kapp was a homemaker and attended the Faith Church of the Nazarene at Kossuth. She was the past secretary of the Perry Chapel Cemetery Association. She enjoyed quilting, knitting afghans and living on the farm. And loved listening to church music, reading her Bible and daily devotions and having her grandchildren visit.
Survivors include five daughters: Mary Fay of Clarion; Mabel Sherlock and her husband, Robert, of Shippenville; Dorothy Cook of Jacksonville, Florida; Doris Eisenman of Strattanville and Gertrude (Kay) Vandermark of Seneca. One son: Melvin (Butch) Kapp and his wife, JoAnne of Shippenville. 16 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, 5 great great grandchildren and 2 great great great grandchildren. Three sisters: Margaret (Peg) Hiles of Reno; Lois Kerr of Oil City and Charlotte Prevost of Franklin. One brother: Charles Xander of Greenville. A special nephew: Bill Kapp and his wife, Delores.
In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by 3 sons: George, Louis and Gordon; 4 grandchildren; 5 sons-in-law: Raymond, Lawrence, Robert, Edward and Raymond; 3 sisters: Nina, Betty and Nancy and two brothers: George and Alvin, Jr.
Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7—9 p.m. Tuesday, August 11, 2009 at the William N. Rupert Mortuary, Inc. at 430 Mendenhall Avenue, Knox.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 12, 2009 at the Faith Church of the Nazarene at Kossuth. Reverend Troy Horne, pastor of the church, will officiate.
Interment will follow in the Perry Chapel Cemetery at Pine City.
