Ulvestad, Ingeborg A. "Ing" Age 96, of Friendship Village, Bloomington passed away April 7, 2011. Ing was born in Kioshan, Honan Province, China. Her father, Pastor Nicolai A. Larsen, and mother, Marie W. Larsen, were stationed at the Lutheran mission in Kikungshan, China. Ing and her family served two tours in China, the second ending in 1927 when her family returned to the United Sates to escape the threat from the growing Chinese civil war. Ing majored in art and received a B.A. from St. Olaf College. Art remained a strong interest throughout her life. She was a life-long member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Minneapolis and co-founder of its art library. She served as Trustee of Vesterheim Museum, Decorah, IA; was an active member of P.E.O. and the Hennepin County Medical Auxiliary. Preceded in death by husband, Harold, Sr. Survived by twin sister, Kathrine "Kal" Christensen Kroll, Dallas, TX; children, Harold, Jr. (Pam), Rolf (Nancy), Ann Ulvestad and Laura Ulvestad (Ron Stetler); grandchildren, Ingrid (Hugh) Roberts, Jon (Mariah) Ulvestad, Lauren Ulvestad, Whitney Ulvestad, Kate Cromwell, John Cromwell, Colin Cromwell, Olivia Stetler and Harrison Stetler; four great- grandchildren, Nick Roberts, Anna Roberts, Palmer Ulvestad, and Aksel Ulvestad, born the same day as Ing's death. The family expresses its thanks to the staff of Friendship Village for its caring attention during her residency. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, April 12, 2 PM, at Friendship Village, Bloomington. A private interment will be at Lakewood Cemetery, Minneapolis.
