Margaret Jane (Kent) Atkins, 70, Martinsville, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 16, 2011 at her residence.
She was born Sunday, January 26, 1941 in Bloomington, Indiana to the late Ira J. and Lucille (Ferrand) Kent.
Margaret was an assembler for 18 years at Harman Becker in Martinsville, retiring in 2001. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Martinsville and the Martinsville Ladies of The Moose Auxiliary.
She is survived by five sons, Darwin, Thomas, David, Terry and Daniel Atkins all of Martinsville; six daughters, Debbie Redden, Donna Lester, Darla Jane Atkins, Tammy Gray and Donita Jo Lundy all of Martinsville and Denise Dawson of Indianapolis; four brothers, Ira Kent, Jr., James Kent and Ronald Kent all of Martinsville and Bobby Kent of Bedford; six sisters, Kathy Locke of Danville, Diane Ferrand, Anita Basey and Dorothy Bailey all of Martinsville, Marylin Tackett of Kentucky and Linda Hayes of Bedford; many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Tommy E. Atkins; two daughters, Rita and Diana Atkins; one brother, Harrison Kent; two sisters, Violet Rose and Charlene Kent.
Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Monday, February 21, 2011 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 100 Church Street, Martinsville, IN.
Burial will be at New South Park Cemetery in Martinsville.
