Lail, Kenneth (Peter) Ray Sr. age 69 of Townsend died at 4:00 AM, Thursday, November 30, 2000 at his home. He was of the Protestant Faith. Mr. Lail was a proud Veteran of the Korean War serving in the U.S. Army, earning one purple heart and one bronze star during the conflict. He was retired from the City of Alcoa with 32 years of service. Preceded in death by: Infant Son, Randall Dee; Father, John Leffery Lail; Mother, Nola Tipton Lail; Brothers, Leffery and Bill Lail; Sisters, Mable Coulter and Joyce Morgan. Survivors include: Very Special Friend, Jeanette Dotson; Sons and Daughters-in-law, Jack & Bennie Lail, Kenneth Jr. (Pete) & Janet Lail, Barry & Alicia Lail; Grandchildren, Somer, Kristy, Haley and Cole Lail; Special Friends, Bruce, Daniel, and Tracy Dotson; Brothers, Avery and Johnny Lail of Townsend; Sisters, Margaret Justice of Sevierville, Evelyn Ledbetter of Townsend. Funeral service will be at 8:00 PM, Friday, December 1, 2000 in the Trinity Chapel of Smith Mortuary with Rev. Fate Green and Rev. Tim Martin officiating. Interment will be at 2:00 PM, Saturday, December 2, 2000 at Tuckaleechee United Methodist Church Cemetery.
