Leonard Thomason, 54
MUNCIE - Leonard R. Thomason, 54, Muncie, died Tuesday evening at his home.
He was born in Bedford, the son of Lucy and Leo Thomason. Leonard lived most of his life in the Muncie area and graduated from Muncie Southside High School in 1964. He worked at RCA in Indianapolis, Regency Electronics and Ball Corp. in Muncie and for the past 12 years he contracted with Multiple Engineering as an employee with Guide Corp. He had worked in System Support, Prototype, Secondary Tooling Design, and most recently in Core Design. Most of his adult life he worked as a computer-aided designer.
Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Joella Havens Thomason; two sons, Brian D. Thomason (wife: Jacqueline), Muncie, and Jason C. Thomason (fiance: April Hannah), Muncie; one daughter, Lynn M. Jacobs (husband: Chip), Noblesville; his mother, Lucy Thomason Bookout, Muncie; one sister, Elizabeth Ann Sayers, Phoenix, Ariz.; four grandchildren, Rhiannon, Joseph, Allec and Cade; one niece, Heather A. Lehman (husband: Todd), Phoenix, Ariz.; one nephew, Greg A. Sayers, Payson, Ariz.; one grandnephew, Lucas M. Lehman, Phoenix, Ariz., and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, Leo Thomason, his stepfather, Chester Bookout, and an infant son, Bradley W. Thomason.
Services will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday in The Meeks Mortuary Chapel with Chaplain Dave Baker officiating. Friends may call at The Meeks Mortuary from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday or an hour before services Saturday.
