Mrs. Elizabeth Bacon Ganong Funeral is Today
Mother of Joseph W. Ganong of Portland Flouring Mills Company and R. C. Ganong, Passes
OREGON CITY, OR., DEC. 25--(Special)--Mrs. Elizabeth Bacon Ganong, pioneer of 1850, died today at her home near here after an illness of two years. She was born May 23, 1841, at Palmyra, Mo., being the daughter of Dr. William R. Allen. She crossed the plains with her parents 63 years ago.
In 1962 (see footnote) she was married to Charles W. Ganong, who was Sheriff of Clackamas County, and who died several years ago. For the last 47 years she had resided at the Ganong home ranch south of Oregon City. She is survived by two sons and two daughters, Joseph Ganong, vice-president of the Portland Flouring Mills Company, of Portland and R. C. Gannong, Mrs. Hugh S. Mount and Mrs. Annie E. Howard, of Oregon City.
The funeral will be held from St. Paul's Episcopal Church tomorrow morning at 11 o'clock and the internment will be in the Masonic Cemetery.
