Carroll Edwin Kay was the only child of Edgar B. and Lillie Gray Ennis Kay.

He married Brooke Tignor on Mar. 4, 1918 in Richmond, VA. I could not find any info on her after this record.

Carroll joined the Army in Jun 1918 and on Dec 29, 1918 he was a SGT. with Supply Company 116th Infantry 29th Div. on the steamship, Finland departing from Hoboken, N.J. It was noted on his paperwork, in case of emergency, to contact his mother.

Carroll E. Kay died of Pneumonia. He was interred on 2/6/1919 in Municipal Cty. at Aux-les-Baine (Savoie) Grave #42.

On Mar 21, 1921, his body was disinterred and shipped on Mar 28, 1921 to Bordeaux. On Apr. 30. 1921, it was shipped to Hoboken arriving on May 18, 1921. The body was shipped to VA. and interred at Lakewood on May 28, 1921.
