She began her career as a performer on Broadway and made her screen debut in "Crime Without Passion" (1934). She is best known perhaps for her role as ‘Aunt Genevieve' in the Shirley Temple film "Curly Top" (1935). A veteran of over seventy films, her credits included "Fury" (1936), "Blackmail" (1939), "The Wrecking Crew" (1942), "The Egg and I" (1947), "Ma and Pa Kettle at the Fair" (1952) and "North to Alaska" (1960).
