She was twice nominated for the Best Supporting Actress Oscar for the films "Night Must Fall" (1937) and "Mrs. Miniver" (1942). Knighted as a Dame Commander of the British Empire in (1918). Married actor Ben Webster. Mother of actress Margaret Webster. Died of cancer, aged 82.
