Ben was born in Fitchburg, May 2, 1989, the son of Steven P. and Marlene (Francis) Plante and resided in Gardner before moving to Ashby 11 years ago. He was a 2007 graduate of North Middlesex Regional High School in Townsend where he was a standout Baseball player. Currently, Ben was enrolled as a sophomore at Franklin Pierce University in Rindge, NH where he was majoring in Biology. His aspiration was to become a Veterinarian. Ben was very involved in breeding and showing of the Bull Mastiff and American Eskimo dog breeds. He was successful enough to show one of his Bull Mastiffs in the Westminster Dog Show in New York City. Besides his parents he leaves his paternal grandparents and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Benjamin passed due to Meningococcal Meningitis.
