A disturbing world in which we live we are what you call the invisible, throw aways, undesirable, creatures who lived in streets and dark alleys. Trying to make life with others in the rough, tough streets is a game of survival, finding food in trash cans anywhere that people tosses out that's edible. A place I called home was a small strip of woods on the edge of San Sebastian River, Saint Augustine, Florida. It is near the road were you can see people taking their daily walks during the day. I would find my self huddled in cars to keep out of the rain, wind, and sun. Normally my bed was a moist wet grass. During winter months I stay close to bushes, shrubs to keep me warm. Luck was not on my side as everyone that passes by seems to ignore me. I decided that I had to do something. I would start looking for persons or couples to be my chosen family. Start keeping an eye on every one that passed by. A couple walking around the complex got my senses, that I like them. Decided to be persistent and to pestered them. Followed them around at first they just said hi, to me Hum!!! its the start... The plan is to be there next time they are walking. Boy, they walk sooo fast I can't keep up with them. During all those times I'm really hungry, and I'm having hard time finding food. Then in a stroke of luck they gave me a slice of cheese. Everyday I would follow them every turn through the entire complex and make sure that I don't get them out of my sight. Then one day they did not show up. Worried, so I decided to do some investigating. There is a medium size tree in front of their town house. Carefully climbed half way up the tree so I can see inside the window. There he was writing something. Aha! he noticed me started laughing then went down opened the front door invited me in. Gave me something to eat and cleaned me up. Life was going to be good, gave me a nice cozy, comfy bed to sleep in. That was the first best night I ever had. My family scheduled me for a check up, but unfortunately the hard life in the streets had taken its toll. For nine years I would be in and out of the doctors office, labs, examining rooms. There are these ugly bumps on my skin that itches, when it hurts I start pulling all my hairs, I had sores inside my mouth and was always bleeding. It was hard to eat, to top it off I was also bleeding internally. I'm not complaining, although I did got tried of them poking and giving me shots all the time, all my medicines, labs are so expensive. Don't know how much money my parents spend on me over the years. I don't really know my real birthday, and I don't recall the story of my birth. Our doctor estimated my age as eleven. I was afraid that my parents would get tried of me and throw me out on the streets. Actually they spoiled me rotten, and they give me foods that I like. Or would try to find foods that I can eat. Some of my favorites are; Virginia Sweet Ham, Boars Head, no other brand, Lemon Pepper Chicken, Publix brand no other, a Little slice of Hawaiian Sweet Bread and a slice of Cheese Yellow American, Boars Head brand only and for dessert my forever favorite is my Cool Reddi Whip Cream. Once in a while they will open a can of Chicken and Greens with Gravy, or some kind of any Grilled Beef or Egg Souffle. One day I heard Mom, telling Pops, about some kind of special water her friend has. A few days later a lady came to visit carrying bottles of special water. At first I was hesitant, but most of the time phone calls to remind Mom, to get some more water, although often she forgets. Since you've been giving me a special water for six months I am never ever sick anymore. Sometimes my stomach gets a little upset, but nothing serious. I just take it easy and everything is gonna be okay. By the way, we just came back from my yearly check up and booster shots, my doctor was happy that I gained a pound. In all the nine years I never gain even an ounce. I'm huge now and weight seven pounds. If not for the love and understanding of my parents maybe I will not be here. I focus on my parents to look after them, give them all the loving... But today is the day I always worried about I just can't go on anymore my body is tried and weak... Got to go now... Thank you for being there for me... Meow! My parents was sooo... upset don't like that... I'll be waiting till the day to be with all my love ones...
