Auto Race Car Driver. One of the greatest drivers in the Argentine Turismo Carretera (road races) category, he began his career as co-driver with his older brother Oscar Alfredo. In 1941, he made his debut as a driver, changing forever the history of Argentine motorsports. His driving style was considered by many to be perfect and smooth, and was attributed to flawless preparation of his Ford Coupe, all of which were painted blue. He won 56 races, and 9 Turismo Carretera Championships (1949-1952, 1955-1958, and 1960) and he was co-champion in 1941, 1953, 1954 and 1959. He lost his life in a race when he was thrown out of his car. He always refused to use the safety belts.
