Henry Kurowski, 93, of Lorain, died Sunday, December 5, 2010 in Specialty Hospital of Amherst.

He was born June 23, 1917 in Lorain and had been a life long resident..

Henry retired from US steel in 1980 after 44 years.

He was a member of St. Frances Xavier Cabrini Parish at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, and a member of the Steelworkers Union. He enjoyed woodworking, music, playing the mandolin, accordion, fiddle and guitar. He was a sports fan and especially enjoyed baseball. He was a handyman around the house and his greatest love was low mileage automobiles. He belonged to the United Polish Club and the P.L.A.V. Post # 38.

Survivors include sons, Don (Shirlyn) Kurowski of Lorain, and Robert (Judy) Kurowski of Carlisle Twp.; 3 grandchildren, Todd, Chad and Alex and 3 great grandchildren, Korey, Cheyenne, and Hannah.

Preceding him in death were his wife, Carol (nee Herman) Kurowski, parents, Konstantya and Josephine "Wanda" ( nee Michelis) Kurowski., brothers, John Joe, Frank and Stanley; sisters, Helen Potsiadly, Anna Poplar and Veronica Goohs Siffling .

Friends may call Tuesday, Dec. 7, 2010 from 4-7 p.m. at the Dombrowski-Riddle Funeral Home, 1939 Oberlin Avenue, Lorain, Ohio. 44052.

Prayers will be said at the funeral home, Wednesday, Dec. 8, 2010 at 10 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. at St. Frances Xavier Cabrini Parish, 2143 Homewood Drive, Lorain, Ohio 44055 . Father John Retar will officiate. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
