Big Timber Pioneer, 4 September 1896
Charles Wesley, aged 4 years and 4 months, oldest son of Mr. and Mrs, A Whitney, died Tuesday, September 1, at the home of his parents in Lake Basin. Although for some time in delicate health, death came suddenly and unexpectedly and was a great shock to the parents and near relatives and friends. The remains were brought to town and the funeral services held yesterday afternoon from the home of Mr, and Mrs, H. Sanborn, Rev W. J. Hannah officiating, numerous friends and relatives attending. Big Timber Lodge No. 25, Knights of Pythias of which Mr, Whitney is a member turned out in a body and escorted the funeral cortege to the cemetery, The heartfelt sympathy of everyone is extended to Mr. and Mrs. Whiteny in this their hour of sorrow.
