"OREGON CITY, Or., July 23, - (Special) - While on a fishing trip on the Little Nestuccca river Sunday, William Albert Blount, 68, prominent resident of Gladstone, was stricken with a heart disease and died two hours later. Mr. Blount's body was found lying on the river's edge, and close by was his little dog.
Mr. Blount was the son of William and Carrie Ellis Blount who crossed the plains to Oregon in 1862, settling at what now is Canby, where the father took up a homestead, and where William Albert Blount was born on July 7, 1860. He had made Clackamas County his home since that time, and for 28 years had resided at Gladstone.
Surviving are the widow, Mrs. Servia Thomas Blount of Gladstone; two daughters, Mrs. Gladys Myers of Portland; Miss Helen Blount of Gladstone; his sisters, Mrs. Jennie Kelly of Oregon City; Mrs. Frank T. Barlow of Gladstone.
Funeral services are to be held from the Holman & Pace Chapel in this city tomorrow at 2 o'clock, Rev. Paul de F. Mortimore, pastor of the Christian Church of Gladstone, will officiate.
Internment will be in Mountain View Cemetery."
