Daughter of Timothy and Norah Maher Curtin

Ottawa Fair Dealer, December 29, 1911
Mrs. J. D. Wolfe of Ottawa, Passed to the Beyond
Mrs. J. D. Wolfe, died at her home, 1029 Post street, last Tuesday, December 19, 1911, at 7:30 o'clock at the age of 45 years. The death of Mrs. Wolfe was unexpected and no intimation of death entering their home was known to the family when they retired on the previous evening for a peaceful nights sleep. Her daughter Josephine, who was sleeping with her, when awaking in the morning noticed a peculiar look on her mother's face and putting her hands on her found her to be unconscious. She at once called the other members of the family and as soon as possible medical assistance was procured, but nothing could be done and the end came within a few minutes after the arrival of the physician. Mrs. Wolfe had been enjoying good health and there was nothing to indicate a break down with the exception of a little heart trouble of which she complained frequently. The deceased was born in Deer Park township and was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Timothy Curtin. On May 11, 1889 she was united in marriage to James Wolfe and resided on a farm near Streator for a couple of years, later coming to this city and have resided here ever since. She was a woman of strong mind yet most noble and generous. The funeral was held at 9 o'clock Thursday morning, December 21, from the late home to St. Columba church, where a high mass for the response of her soul was celebrated by Rev. Father Quinn, after which an eloquent and touching sermon was preached. Interment was made in St. Columba cemetery. The pall bearers were Hon. M.T. Maoloney, Richard Wolfe, Arthur Barrett and Joseph Hepler of Ottawa and James Solon and Richard Woulfe of Streator. Surviving her besides her husband are her two daughters Margaret and Josephine and one sister, Mrs. James Latch of Chicago and one brother, Michael Curtin of this city.
