Murder and Suicide
On the 11th inst. Daniel Wolfe, a brother of Patrick and Richard Wolfe of this city, an unusually fine young gentleman, engaged in business in Miller, Hand Co., Dakota, was shot dead by his partner, Wm. McCumber, while the two were riding together in a buggy in the country. McCumber, after shooting Wolfe through the heart, tried to burn the body of his victim and then left the scene. A couple of farmers attracted by the smoke, found the corpse partially consumed and gave the alarm. The Sheriff discovered McCumber in a saloon playing cards, and on arresting him the murderer drew a revolver and killed himself.
