Alvin Pope, 79, a retired aircraft assembler for Bell Helicopter, went to be with his Lord on Wednesday, Jan. 12, 2005.
Funeral: 2 p.m. Saturday at Crosier-Pearson-Mayfield Funeral Home in Burleson. Burial: Laurel Land Memorial Park. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Prostate Cancer Research Institute.
Alvin was a veteran of World War II and was a member of First Baptist Church of Burleson. He was an avid golfer and gardener. Alvin was preceded in death by his wife, Maxine, and a grandson, Andrew Pope.
Survivors: Sons, Thomas Pope and his wife, Linda, and Dwaine Pope and his wife, Marla; daughter Elaine Williams; sisters, Helen Nelson, Nell Ward and Mildred Tune; brothers, Les and Ray Pope; grandchildren, Jonathan and Allison Williams, Stephen, Elizabeth, Kyle and Misty Pope and Mindy Thomas.
