Betty Lou Alexander, 87, of Middleton, passed away Wednesday, March 30, 2011. A private family service will be held at the Middleton Cemetery.
Betty was born in Springfield, Ill., on March 7, 1924 to William and FranceneSquires. The oldest of two children. She spent her childhood in Springfield, where she met her future husband Robert (Jack) Alexander. Betty and Jack were married Aug. 16, 1945.
After their marriage they lived in Clayton, Ill., where they operated a service station before homesteading north of Middleton in the Black Canyon area in March of 1951. Betty and Jack were blessed with four children; Susan, Dian, Robert and Laurie.
Betty is survived by her brother, Donald William (Mary Frances) Squires, of Springfield, Ill.; daughters, Susan Montgomery, of Caldwell, Dian Bora, of Boise, and Laurie (Brian) Smith, of Notus; son, Robert (Sandee), of Middleton; 11 grandchildren, one great-grandchild; sisters-in-law; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Robert (Jack) Alexander.
In lieu of flowers please make donations to the Canyon County Animal Shelter.
The family would like to thank the staff of the Cottages (760 west Main Street, Middleton) for their devoted care and kindness and the generosity bestowed upon Betty during her brief stay.
