CHESAPEAKE - Bonnie Paxson "D" Moore, 72, of the 700 block of Providence Road, passed away early Saturday morning, Jan. 10, 2009, in Chesapeake Regional Medical Center. Born in Norfolk County, she was the daughter of the late "Honorable" B.F. Wilson Paxson and Bertha Davis Paxson.
Bonnie "D" was a graduate of Great Bridge High School in 1954. She was president of her class in 1954 and homecoming queen. She graduated from Longwood College with a bachelor's degree in education in 1957 and went on to teach second grade elementary school for 14 years.
Bonnie "D" is survived by her husband of 49 years, Garnett A. Moore of Chesapeake and was the proud mother of two adopted children, son, Scott Wilson Moore and daughter, Krista Moore McKee. Her seven grandchildren included Sophia, Nicky, Bobby and Alexis of Scott and Melody Moore and Cameron, Mason and Olivia of Chris and Krista McKee.
"She was a dedicated and loving mother who lived life with the highest of values."
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday in Riverside Memorial Park. The Rev. Gene Meek will officiate. There will be no viewing.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of the Great Bridge Chapel of Oman Funeral Home & Crematory, 653 Cedar Road, Chesapeake.
