Mary Pearce, 85, died March 18, 2011 at Scottish Rite Heath Care Center. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, March 25, 2011 at St. Augustin Catholic Church in Des Moines. Burial will follow at Glendale Cemetery.

Mary Pearce was born in 1925 in Des Moines, Iowa, the daughter of Thomas and Catherine (Lynch) Callahan. She graduated from St. Joseph's Academy. On July 7, 1945 she married William L. Pearce, also of Des Moines. She was employed by Mercy hospital for forty years.

She is survived by her two children, Bill (Susan) Pearce of Des Moines, and Kathleen (Lou) Woody, of Fairfax, Virginia; two grandchildren, Michael (Erin) and Megan Pearce; three great-grandchildren, Marley, Cody and Morgan Pearce, all of Des Moines; and one sister, Sister Anne Callahan of Leavenworth, Kansas. She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, William L. Pearce and a son, Thomas Michael Pearce.

Visitation will be 5-7:00 p.m. Thursday, March 24 at Iles Funeral Homes-Dunn's Chapel in Des Moines, followed by a 7:00 p.m. vigil service. Memorials may be made to Dowling High School or Saint Augustin Catholic Church.
