Services will be 12:30 p.m. Friday at St. Paul's Catholic Church for Clifford P. Trossen, 91, who died Tuesday at St. Cloud Hospital.
Burial will be in Assumption Cemetery with full military honors provided by VFW Post 428.
Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Daniel Funeral Home, St. Cloud, and after 11:30 a.m. Friday at the church in St. Cloud. Parish prayers will be at 5 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Clifford Trossen was born in St. Cloud to John and Mary (Lenger) Trossen. He attended the University of Minnesota ICS-AE schools and resident schools of the U.S. Army. He entered the Minnesota National Guard in 1926 and was on active duty during World War II and the Korean War. He also served as lieutenant colonel at Fort Riley, Kan., from May to June of 1949. He retired from Active Reserves in 1962.
He married Edith Marie Johnson on May 8, 1940, in Akeley. She died on Dec. 11, 1969. He married Delores W. Hiemenz on Aug. 30, 1974, in Holy Family Catholic Church, Belle Prairie. He lived in St. Cloud before moving to Arizona in 1977 and later to California. He was a life member of the VFW in Prescott Valley, Ariz., and a past member of St. Paul's parish.
Survivors include his children, Mary Weber of Gainesville, Fla., Marlene 'Marnie'Neu of Shreveport, La., Michael and Paul of St. Cloud, and Cathie Ott of Rocky Hill, N.J.; 16 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and sister, Dorothy Schneider of St. Cloud.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Dorothy Mankvitz on May 11, 2000; brothers, Ervin, Alfred and Clarence; and two infant sisters.
