Actor. U.S. actor Eric Linden appeared in over 30 films. Because of his youthful appearance, he was often cast as a "confused adolescent." His Hollywood career began in 1931, when he starred as a juvenile delinquent in "Are These Our Children?" In his last film, "Criminals Within," from 1941, Mr. Linden played a young army private who helped catch foreign spies. Among other movies, the brown-haired, brown-eyed actor also starred in "The Crowd Roars," "The Age of Consent," and "Afraid to Talk." He received critical acclaim for his role as Richard Miller, in the film adaptation of Eugene O'Neill's "Ah Wilderness." After Hollywood, Mr. Linden returned to stage acting, something he had done before and during his film career. His stage credits included "The Philadelphia Story," "Mr. and Mrs. North," "My Sister Eileen" and "Brighton Rock." Mr. Linden also had a brief stint in radio. In 1931, he played the title character in "The Adventures of Dick Trevor" (NBC). Cause of death: cardio respiratory arrest. Burial: cremated; ashes scattered in the Pacific Ocean at Newport Beach.
