Earl, born in Inkum, moved to Scurry County in 1929. On 29 Jan 1933, Earl married Gladys Findley in Lovington, Lea County, New Mexico. Earl and Gladys had the following children: Weldon, Janice, Gwendol, Larry, Jerry and Gerald.
Preceding him in death were his son, Weldon, on 19 Oct 1979 and his brother Hoyt 2 Dec 1982.
Earl died in his home.
Earl's obituary lists the following survivors: his wife, Gladys; daughters, Janice Treat and Gwendol Young, both of Dallas; sons, Larry Lynn of Abilene and Jerry and Gerald, both of Dallas; one brother, Marvin of Snyder; 20 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Earl were at Bell-Cypert-Seale Chapel with the Rev. L. W. "Buck" Hatfield, pastor of Faith Baptist Church, officiating. Burial followed in Snyder Cemetery.
