Wanda Jane "Pumpkin" Elvington, 73, of Paris passed away Thursday, April 16, 2009, at which time Bright-Holland received her into its care.
Funeral services are scheduele for 2 p.m., Tuesday, April 21, at Providence Baptist Church with Reverand Chad Minnie officiating. Burial follows in Evergreen Cemetery.
The family receives friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Monday at Bright-Holland Funeral Home.
She was born March 11, 1936, the daughter of Martin and Aulga Dean Scott Williams in Paris. She graduated from Delmar High School and was a member of Friendship Baptist Church. She enjoyed collecting clocks, stuffed animals and family photos. She married Calvin Elvington January 16, 1987. She loved her cats and spending time with her large family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, James Darrell Barnes; one son, Clarence Ward; one daughter, Jamie Dawn Barnes; one grandson, James Christopher Fields; and one granddaughter, Brittany Dean Ausburn.
She is survived by her busband, Calvin Elvington; four sons, James Barnes and wife, Brenda, of Paris; Darrell Barnes and wife, Tammy, of Paris; Kenneth Barnes of Blossom and Ronnie Barnes and wife, Irene, of Pattonville; three daughters; Annie Ausburn and husband, Johnny, of Paris; Debbie Fields and fiancee, Charles Barnett, of Paris, and Cynthia Price and husband, Michael, of North Richland Hills; nine grandchildren, Jameson Ausburn, Joshua Ausburn, Scotty Murray, Joey Fields, Jonathan Fields, J. D. Barnes, Ty Barnes, Melanie Barnes and Christopher Barnes; nine great-grandchildren; one brother, David Williams and wife, Linda, of Pittsburg; one sister Linda "Susie" Larkin and husband, Paul, of Paris, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Her grandchildren will serve as casket bearers.
