She was born Oct. 23, 1943, in Fairmont, a daughter of the late Albert D. and Mary Virginia Holcomb Butcher.
Sue actively attended Walnut Grove United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the Walnut Grove Woman's Club.
She was a 1961 graduate of East Fairmont High and retired with more than 25 years of service from Westinghouse and 15 years of service from the FBI in Clarksburg.
She was a contributor to the Marion County Humane Society and also supported local Hospice and Boy Scouting organizations.
In her free time, she enjoyed opening her home to friends and family. She loved going to the beach and had recently visited Key West with close friends and had been taking day trips with a local travel club.
She is survived by her son, Kevin Keener and his wife Kim of Fairmont; grandchildren, Eric and Kyle Helmick, both of Fairmont; great-grandchild, Kaydence Helmick of Fairmont; sister-in-law, Norma Butcher of Fairmont; and niece and nephew, Rocky and Leslie Butcher.
She also is survived by her special friends; family dogs, Ozzie and Moxxin; and her cat, Pepper.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Eddie Butcher.
Friends and family may visit Ford Funeral Home, Ford Chapel, 201 Columbia St., Fairmont, from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday and from 1 to 2 p.m. Sunday. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 2 p.m. Sunday with the Rev. Jim Zinn officiating. Interment will follow at Grandview Memorial Gardens in Fairmont.
