Daughter of John Roscoe Canoles and Lelia Josephine Lincoln. Wife of Jennings Bryan Taylor, and later of John Thaddeus Deweese.
Rella Florence Canoles DeWeese, 82, of Depauw, died Monday at Harrison County Hospital in Corydon.
She was born April 8, 1903 in Harrison County to the late Roscoe and Leliah Lincoln Canoles. She was a homemaker and a member of Saint Bernard Catholic Church and Saint Rita's Alter Society at Frenchtown. She was the widow of John T. Deweese.
Survivors include three sons: Garland Taylor of Georgetown, Jesse C. Deweese of Palmyra, and Billy Deweese Sr. of Depauw; two daughters Anna Birge of Phoenix and Irene Parker of Indianapolis; two sisters Blanche Kerns of Hardinsburg and Arlene Smith of Milltown; 19 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Swarens Funeral Home in Ramsey with Father Fred Dennison officiating. Organist will be Sherry Binkley. Interment will be in St. Bernard Catholic Church Cemetery in Frenchtown.
