LeRoy Covey
LeRoy Covey, 80, of 1754 Lincoln, died Friday morning at the Dee Hospital of cancer.
Mr. Covey was born Oct. 3, 1884, in Salt Lake City, a son of Hyrum and Helen Parkinson Covey. On June 28, 1913, he was married to Louie P. Colvin in Ogden.
He had resided in Salt Lake City and Smithfield and came to Ogden in 1913. He had been custodian for Williamsen Body & Equipment Co., retiring three years ago.
He was formerly employed at Utah General Depot and as a section boss fo the Utah Idaho Central Railroad. He was a member of the Forty-seventh Ward.
Surviving are his widow, four daughters, Mrs. Kenneth (VIolet) Schurz, Ogden; Mrs. Arnold (Mary) Pinnell, Roy; Mrs. Golden (Leora) Bennett, Kaysville; Mrs. Dale (Donna) Husfstetler, Roy; a grandson alnd granddaughter whom he reared, Roy J. Holden, Sunset; Mrs. Richard (Gloria) Johnson, Clerfield; seven other grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, four sisters, Mrs. John (Nellie) Bauman, Mrs. Arthur (Ivy) Seamons, both of Ogden. Mrs. Joseph (Mabel) Pitcher, Smithfield, Mrs. Myra Craighead, Los Angeles.
Funeral services willb e held Tuesday at 1 p.m. in Lindquist and Sons Colonial Chapel with Bishop Delbert Thompson of the Forty-seventh WArd officiating. Friends may call at the mortuary Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday prior to services. Burial in Ogden City Cemetery.
