Fort Bend Herald, March 26, 2007:

Funeral services for Hazel Fuller Briscoe are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 27, 2007, at First Baptist Church, 1117 First Street in Rosenberg, with Dr. Donnie Melton officiating. Burial will be in the Briscoe Family Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Monday, March 26, 2007, at First Baptist Church in Rosenberg.

Hazel Fuller Briscoe was born March 4, 1921 in Okolona, Mississippi to Bettie and Wilburn Fuller. She was a graduate of Houston Baptist University and an active member of First Baptist Church in Rosenberg serving in the library for over 20 years. She was also a volunteer in Adult Services Department of George Memorial Library since 1986.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Andrew Clyde Briscoe, Jr.; her parents, Bettie and Wilburn Fuller; brothers, Morris, George, Herman; and sister, Sybil Garner.

Her survivors include daughters, Lynn Briscoe of Richmond, Amelia Moody McElreath and husband, Wayne, of Alvin; sons, Alan Lee Briscoe and wife, Barbara, of Sargent, and Andrew Briscoe III and wife, Karen, of McLean, Virginia; grandchildren, Amy Briscoe Eagle and husband, John, of Austin, Lori Briscoe Trinta and husband, Jose, of Houston, Dr. Lisa Lynn Schlitzkus of Greenville, NC and Dyer Schlitzkus of Richmond, Cody McElreath, C.J. McElreath, and Chrissy McElreath, all of Alvin, Drew Briscoe and Callie Briscoe of McLean, VA; great-granddaughter, Cami Eagle of Austin; nephews, Louie Garner and wife, Muriel, of Acworth, GA, Paul Garner and wife, Donna, of Tallahassee, FL, and Douglas Garner, of Laredo, TX; and numerous other nieces and nephews; dear friend, Lupe Aguilar; and beloved dog, Sweet Pea.

Pallbearers will be nephews, Mason Briscoe III, John Wright, Bobby, Chip, Brian and Monty Briscoe, Buddy, Charles, and Billy Mahler. Honorary pallbearers will be The Honorable Dolph Briscoe, Mason Briscoe II, Frank Briscoe, and James Baker.
