Patricia "Pat" Jenkins
Services for Patricia "Pat" Jenkins, 66, of Tyler will be held on Friday, March 25, 2011, at 2 p.m. at Stewart Family Funeral Home chapel with Wendell Marshall officiating.
A private burial will be in Cathedral in the Pines Cemetery in Tyler under the direction of Stewart Family Funeral Home.
Mrs. Jenkins entered heaven's gates on March 22, 2011, after a lengthy battle with cancer.
She was born Sept. 9, 1944, in Tyler, to S.A. and Dorothy Howard Lewis.
Pat graduated from John Tyler High School in 1963. She attended Federal Business School and worked more than 20 years in the family business, The Jewel Box. She started in the downtown location before moving to Broadway Square Mall. She and her husband, Glenn, enjoyed making and selling arts and crafts at First Monday Trade Days in Canton for 10 years. Pat was raised a Baptist. Her house was where family gathered, as well as the neighborhood children, friends and neighbors.
She was preceded in death by her wonderful husband of 28 years, Glenn Jenkins; her dad, S.A. Lewis; and niece, Melissa Majors.
Pat is survived by her loving family including daughters, Stacy Waldrup and Amy Tyler and husband Hank, all of Flint; mother, Dorothy Lewis; sister, Janet Majors; granddaughters, Ashley Waldrup and Macey Tyler; and nephew, Chuck Jones; and a host of friends and neighbors.
Visitation is scheduled from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 24, 2011, at Stewart Family Funeral Home, 7525 Old Jacksonville Highway, Tyler, 75703.
The family would like to say a special thank-you to Dr. Ward, and his nurse Jennifer, and the rest of the staff at Texas Oncology, Tyler. They would also like to thank Hospice of East Texas and her home nurse, Annette.
