Fern Opal Hankla, 91, a resident of Albuquerque since 1959, born May 18, 1919 in Campo, CO died on Sunday, March 20, 2011. She is survived by her daughters, Myrna Keilman of Pfugerville, TX and Tanda Beck and husband William of Albuquerque, NM; grandchildren, Tommie Coleman and husband Wade of Granger, TX, Glenda Barina and husband Emmit of Flower Mound, TX, Bobby Keilman of Pflugerville, TX, Gay Ellis and husband Wade of Baton Rouge, LA, and Renea Kempf and husband Nathan of Albuquerque, NM; three great-grandchildren, Will, Nathan and Lilly; sister, Ruth Waldrop of Knoxville, TN. along with numerous nieces, nephews and loving friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Wilfred Hankla in 1978. Fern was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. Her greatest joy in life was her faith, family, and friends. Fern was a great inspiration and beloved by all who knew her. On Thursday, March 24, 2011 friends are invited to visit with Fern's family from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. at French ~ Lomas Chapel with funeral service beginning at 1:00 p.m. Fern will be laid to rest beside her husband at Sandia Memory Gardens.
