Makayla liked balloons (especially water balloons), princesses, camping and swimming. She loved school. In April 2010, she was diagnosed with brain cancer. After a hard battle with the illness, Makayla died Tuesday, March 15, 2011, with her family at her side, at the age of 5. She was a member of Faith Reformed Church, Rock Valley, Iowa, and loved Jesus.
