Death:	May 30, 1893 Little Rock Pulaski County Arkansas, USA
US Congressman. Served in the Union Army during the Civil War. Elected to represent Arkansas' 1st District in the United States House of Representatives, serving from 1868 to 1871. He was defeated in 1870. Also served as a Delegate to the Republican National Convention from Arkansas in 1868, and 1884. Just recently figured out that both Logan Holt Roots and his wife Emily Margaret Blakeslee are both distant relatives of mine through one of my maternal great grandmothers.
