FUNERAL SERVICES FOR BORUP LADY

Mrs. Ole N. Larson, Aged 79, Died Sept. 6th After An Illness of Only a Few Days

Funeral services for Mrs. Ole N. Larson of Borup were held last Monday, Sept. 12th at 10 o'clock from the farm home southeast of Borup and at 11 o'clock at the Felton Lutheran church and from there to the Solem Lutheran church, Hawley, where the remains were laid to rest beside her four sons, Henry, Edward and Arthur, who died at home and Norman, who died in the World war.

Rev. S. J. Lindseth of Borup officiated at the Felton Lutheran church. Henrietta Hilde, a granddaughter and Carmen Harris of Borup sang vocal duets, "Heaven is My Home" and "Softly and Tenderly." Maynard and Russell Kiser, two great grandsons, sang "Looking This Way." Rev. A. J. Anders of Lake Park officiated at the Solem Lutheran church and was assisted by Rev. S. J. Lindseth of Borup. The Solem Mixed quartet sang two songs. The pall bearers were twelve grandsons. The six active pall bearers were Orville and Arvin Lovold, Earl Larson, Oliver Larson, Virgil Smith and Roy Doran. The honorary pall bearers were Gerald Sander, Leslie Lovold, Garfield Hilde, Victor Larson, Erling Smith and Marvin Larson.

Mrs. Larson was born in Norway July 10th, 1859 and came across to this country with her parents when she was three years old. Mrs. Larson was well known around Borup and Felton, having lived on the Willow Grove farm for 25 years.

She had been in poor health for several years. She had several slight strokes, but in spite of her health she was a good manager and a hard worker.

Mrs. Larson was 78 years, one month and 27 days old at the time of her death which was due to weakness, pleurisy and pneumonia which claimed Mrs. Larson Tuesday afternoon, Sept. 6th at 4:45. She became seriously ill Saturday September 3rd and the children were all called home and were at her bedside when she passed away.

Fifteen children were born to this union, four sons of whom have preceded her in death and 11 children who are living. She leaves to mourn her departure her aged husband, Ole N.
