In Seventy-Ninth Year - On Tuesday one of the old residents of Collingwood, Mrs Joseph Carscadden passed away at her home on Birch St. She was in her 79th years. She was a native of Nottawasaga tph in which her parents Mr and Mrs Finlay McDermid were pioneer settlers on the 10th line. Her maiden name name was Flora McDermid. She married Colin Currie who was a sailor and for some years they lived in Milwaukee then in Nottawa Village, later they went to a farm on the Jardine side road on the mountain which they operated until they moved into Collingwood twenty or more years ago. Mr Currie died here and later Mrs Currie married Joseph Carscadden who survives at the advanced age of 100 years. One son Colin Currie mourns his mothers death, one sister is Mrs Hugh Gillies, Pretty River Valley and the other members of her family all of whom are at Providence Bay are Mrs John McDonald, Mrs. Love, Alexander McDermid and D. McDermid. The funeral will be held today, Thursday to the West Church Cemetery
