Mary Elizabeth Mills-Torrey Battle Creek Mary Elizabeth Mills-Torrey, 91 of Battle Creek, passed away Monday, February 14, 2011 at the Battle Creek Health System. She was born November 16, 1919 in Gladstone, Oregon, the daughter of Frank and Alma (Lepird) Karr. Prior to her retirement, Mary had worked at Hunter Prell for many years. On August 11, 1942 she was married to Elmer J. Mills who preceded her in death on March 18, 1988. Mary later married George Torrey on April 1, 1997 and he survives. Also surviving are two daughters: Sandra J. Gastian of Battle Creek and Kathy (Ray) Brunk of El Paso, TX; four grandchildren: Jon T. (Paula) Gastian, Karen L. Gastian, Dr. Beth L. (Eddie) Brunk-Chavez and David (Jennifer) Brunk; six great-grandchildren: Matthew Gastian, Bailey Gastian, Sarah Gastian, Jackson Chavez, Ryan Brunk and Carter Chavez. Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Thursday in the Chapel at Memorial Park Cemetery with Rev. M. Lynn Meintz officiating. Visitation will be from 12:15 p.m. until the time of the service in the chapel. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Alzheimer's Association . Arrangements by the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home.
