Birth: 1678
Schenectady County
New York, USA
Death: 1742
Schenectady County
New York, USA

Schenectady was actually in Albany County during Arent's lifetime. Military Service: Indian Wars, enrolled as Arent Van Putte in the 2nd Foot Co. of Schenectady under Capt. Harman Van Slyck 2
Note: Arent, in company with Myndert Schuyler and Jan Dellamont, received a patent for 500 acres of land on the Normanskill, Nov. 3, 1714. A carpenter by trade, he was commissioned in 1711 along with Hendrik Vrooman, Barent Vrooman and two others to build two forts for an agreed 1000 pounds. Evidently only Fort Hunter was built at the Mohawk Castle to protect settlers from the French and Indians. Info from Rootsweb.
