Actor. Remembered for his 40-year career as one of Hollywood's best veteran character actors. After serving in the US Marine Corps in the Pacific during World War II, he debuted in his first film "Highway 301" (1950). Some of his memorable credits include "12 Angry Men" (1957), "The Dirty Dozen" (1967), "Midway" (1976), "10" (1979), "S.O.B." (1981) and "Nuts" (1987). For television, he appeared on "Studio One", "The Outer Limits", "The Rifleman", "Kojak", "The Rockford Files", "Moonlighting" and many more. He died of Lou Gehrig's disease at age 64 in Malibu, California. (bio by: John "J-Cat" Griffith)
