Tyrone Herald, 15 January 1914:
"An Esteemed Resident of Sinking valley Died Sunday
"At his pretty home in Sinking Valley, Reuben Fox, one of the oldest and most respected citizens of the valley, died at seven o'clock Sunday, of complication of diseases, resulting from a fall which he had some weeks previous.
Reuben Fox was born at Tyrone Forge, September 26, 1836. From there he moved to Sinking Valley, became a farmer, following agricultural pursuits since young manhood days. He was a son of John and Rachel Fox, both deceased. Mr. Fox was united in marriage to Miss Mary Love, who with the following children survive to mourn the husband and father's death: Reuben N. Fox Jr., Mary, Esther and Rachel. He is also survived by one sister, Miss Mary Fox, of Skelp. Margaret Fleck, whose burial took place on Saturday, was a sister of the deceased gentleman.
Reuben Fox was a man of many excellent traits and was as honest as the day was long. He was a devoted member of the Lutheran church of Sinking Valley, and took a very active part in the erection of the same.
The funeral services were held at 2 o'clock Wednesday afternoon at his late home. Interment in the Lutheran cemetery in Sinking Valley."
