Former Grants Pass resident Doris Elizabeth Cooper, 89, of Oakridge died Saturday, March 28, 1998, at Oakridge.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Oakridge Chapel of the Woods Funeral Home. Interment will be at Forestvale Memorial Park in Oakridge.
She was born Dec. 2, 1908, at Grants Pass to Ed and Florence Letteken Woolfolk. On June 15, 1930, she married Arthur E. Cooper at Grants Pass. She graduated from Grants Pass High School. She attended Southern Oregon State College and the University of Oregon. From 1929 to 1948, she taught in many schools in Oregon. She was also the co-owner of Cooper's Craft Shop in Oakridge for 27 years, retiring in 1974. She resided in Klamath Falls for eight years. She had lived in Oakridge for more than 50 years.
Cooper was a member of the Baptist Church in Klamath Falls. She was also a charter member and president of Business and Professional Women, a former president of the Oakridge Parent Teacher Association, and a charter member and past president of the Oakridge Tree Planting Association.
She enjoyed children, flowers, gardening, fishing, camping and traveling.
Survivors include two brothers, Robert Woolfolk of Rogue River and William Woolfolk of Mount Pleasant, Pa.; a sister, Helen Summers of Eugene; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, who died April 15, 1987.
