Keith Emerson Heiney
Keith Emerson Heiney, 65, died Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2002, at Indiana University Medical Center. He was a resident of Morgantown.
He was born March 12, 1936, in Huntington. His parents were Lannerd Heiney and Zelma (Overholt) Leerkamp. He married Charlene Graves on May 21, 1955, in Franklin. She survives. Other survivors include three daughters, Teresa L. Ross of Covington, Christi L. Heiney of Morgantown and Ronna C. Bemis of Newport; a son, Charles K. Heiney of Nineveh; a brother, Richard Heiney of Greenwood; seven grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter. He was preceded in death by a son, Michael Aaron Heiney, on July 9, 1990; and a brother, James Heiney.
He was a 1953 graduate of Franklin High School and attended Franklin College.
He was employed as a quality control engineer at Allison Transmission in Indianapolis for 37 years, retiring in 1992.
He was a member of Morgantown First Christian Church where he served as a deacon, elder, Sunday school teacher and member of the choir.
He enjoyed golf and traveling.
The Revs. Lynn Coleman and Burt Brock will conduct a service at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Meredith-Clark Funeral Home in Morgantown. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be at East Hill Cemetery in Morgantown.
