ROY- Charles M. Carstensen, 84, Roy, died this morning in the Dee Hospital.
Mr. Carstensen was born June 15, 1875, in Ogden, a son of Peter and Karen Petersen Carstensen. On May 2, 1898, he married Mary Andersen in the Salt Lake Temple.
He had been a resident of Ogden and Roy most of his life, except for five yers spent in Richfield, Utah. He was a retired rate clerk for the Denver and Rio Grande Western Railroad Co. He had been a fruit farmer and was former owner of the White Elephant fruit orchard. He was a former member of the Fruit Growers Assn. and Woodmen of the World. he was a memember of the Brotherhood of Railroad clerks.
He was a member of the LDS Roy Fifth Ward and a high priest in the Lakeview Stake. He had been a ward teacher and was a former Ogden Stake missionary.
Surviving are his widow, a son, Charles Orval Carstensen, Richfield; three daughters, Mrs. Wilbur C. (Jetta) Jones, Ogden ; Mrs. W. E. (Lorna) Anderson, Ogden; Mrs. Conrad L. (Ruth) Stanley, Ogden; 10 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, a sister, Mrs. Florence C. Walker, Ogden.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 11 a.m. in Lindquist and Sons colonial Funeral Chapel by Bishop D. Vernille Parsons. Friends may call at the mortuary Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Saturday until services. Burial in Ogden City Cemetery.
