Uncle Josiah Nichols died recently while on a visit to his daughter at Merkel, Texas.
Captain Josiah Nichols was born and moved to Texas in 1846. At the time of his death he was 93 years, 1 month and 23 days of age.
The brothers of Captain Josiah Nichols were Chesley Nichols, Tandy Kee Nichols, Wright Nichols and sisters were Mrs. Liza Groshong and Mrs Harriett Giles. Early in the 70ties the deceased came back to Missouri on a visit having rode horseback all the was through. While here he purchased another horse and wagon and drove all the way to his Texas home.
The deceased was an uncle of Warren Nichols and Mrs. W. B. Howell of this city - Hawk Point Transcript.
