Painfully shy, beautiful, and richly resonant and soulful voiced singer / guitarist who rocketed to fame posthumously after melanoma took her life at the young age of 33. Known somewhat locally for club performances in the Washington D.C. area during her lifetime, it wasn't until airplay in Britain some 4-5 years after her death that her recordings became better known to the rest of the world, eventually culminating in a number one, triple-platinum album "Songbird" in the United Kingdom.
