Frisbee pioneer. He was hailed as the father of the modern day Frisbee. He founded the International Frisbee Association and the Professional Disc Golf Association. "I felt the Frisbee had some kind of a spirit involved. It's not just like playing catch with a ball. It's the beautiful flight," Headrick said. According to the San Francisco Chronicle, he wished to have his ashes molded into memorial flying discs and given to family and close friends.

Mr. Headrick asked that his ashes be molded into a limited number of memorial flying discs, which were distributed to his family and friends, his son Ken told The Santa Cruz Sentinel.|
