Mrs. Flock had made her home in Amherst, Ohio, for over sixty-five years, before moving to Avon, Ohio, to live with her daughter, Joan Gill, where she resided for eight years.
She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother. She was a member of Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Roman Catholic Church in South Amherst, Ohio. Mary was an avid fan of the Cleveland Indians professional baseball team and on her 100th birthday, she received a gift from the Cleveland Indian's organization. She loved spending time outside tending to her flower garden. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family.
Survivors included her son, Donald Flock of Amherst, Ohio; her daughter, Joan Gill of Avon, Ohio; nine grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren and ten great-great-grandchildren; three nephews and one niece; and her daughter-in-law, Frances Flock of Amherst, Ohio.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Arnold Flock; her son, Gerald Flock; her brothers Frank, George, John, and William Bardar; her sister, Helen Zvosec; and her parents, George and Marie Bardar.
Friends called on Monday, March 14, 2011 from 7 - 9 p.m. at the Hempel Funeral Home, 373 Cleveland Avnue., Amherst, Ohio. Closing Prayers were held on Tuesday, March 15, 2011 at 10:30 a.m at the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Roman Catholic Church, 333 South Lake Street, South Amherst, Ohio. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain, Ohio.
