Songwriter. Founded the Salvation Army Musicial Department at Clapton. Born in Penzance, Cornwall, his father was Salvation Army founder William Booth. He wrote 'The Salvation Soldier's Song Book' (1897), 'Songs of Peace and War' (1890) and wrote the Hymns 'Blessed Lord, In Thee Is Refuge' and 'Promoted to Glory'.
